Sailing Around The World

Sailing Around The World

There are many stories of people who rent beach cats and end up miles offshore before they could figure out how to turn them around, but what if you set off on a sports catamaran and never turned it around? Solo sailor Greg Prod’Homme is planning to answer just that question, as he aims to sail singlehanded around the world on a tiny 25 foot sports catamaran (commonly called a beach cat). If Greg succeeds in circumnavigating the globe in his sailboat Flagran Délire, he'll be the first to do so on a beach catamaran, and he'll be setting an entirely new world sailing record. 33 year old Prod’Homme says of his plan to skipper the SailingOne Easy catamaranFlagran Délire:  “The objective of this project is to realize an exploit, never done, never thought of, in the interest of everybody. To prove that with strength and will great achievements are still possible. To show at the scale of the world the concretization of a challenge and first of all a dream - and this without using an engine in the total respect of the environment.”
