Volcom Clothing
Volcom Clothing is more than just a clothing brand. Volcom is a skate, surf and snow boarding brand that also dabbles with art, a record label, movies, skate parks and of course the Volcom Stone clothing label. They have skate, surf and snowboarding teams that they endorse consisting of riders such as Geoff Rowley, Rune Glifberg, Bruce Irons, Ozzie Wright and Jamie Lynn. So how did this all start?Volcom began life in 1991 when two friends, Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall, headed off on a snowboarding trip which inspired them to start a riding company based around snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing. They started out producing clothing and made $2600 in their first year. They decided to base Volcom around the idea of “Youth Against Establishment” as they didn’t want to follow the rules. They wanted to capture the spirit of youth, creativity and free thinking.Volcom Stone is the head of the Volcom family producing both the Men’s Volcom and Volcom Girls ranges. The men’s range features a mix of fine suits, board shorts, hoodys, fleeces as well as the standard jeans and t-shirts. The Volcom womens clothing features similar clothing to the men’s range but with the addition of skirts and dresses. The Volcom range is known for both simple graphic designs as well as big, extravagant artist designs. These are combined with interesting stitching techniques and unique design features that make Volcom clothes stand out from the crowd.
